Default Did you do something special?

To mark the occasion of the birth of your baby? We planted a climbing rose for her on the first weekend after bringing her home in October. The first pink blossom looks like it will bloom today

I planted a seed the weekend I got home too and almost 9 years later it's a gorgeous big bush with little purple Daisy's all over it at exDP's mums house. DD is so proud of 'her' flower, I only wish I'd planted something smaller and in a pot so I could take it with me.

Something special for him at Nan's house. While I love our rose, the most amazing example of this type of commemoration is from a friend who planted a maple tree on his property for each of his boys. Dad is now handcrafting a guitar for the eldest (17) made from his maple. How's that for a family heirloom!

That is a brilliant idea. I am trying to get a herb garden in before the birth and may have to grab something pretty for the baby as well.
