Default Moving to northern Sydney suburb

We are moving to Sydney and are interested with the northern Sydney suburbs because of good primary schools. What's the ideal salary range should a family earn in order to live a decent life in these suburbs?

It really depends on where exactly on the north shore you want to live and if you are looking to rent or buy a house. If you are looking to buy a house you are looking at a minimum of about $900k. The further up the north shore you go you will get more for your money but that won't get you very far if you want to be closer to the city. If you're renting you would be looking at a minimum of $650 - $700 per week for a pretty average 3 bedroom house. $800 - $900 per week will get you something nice. It gets cheaper if you look at north western Sydney. The north shore is expensive but it has good schools and is close to the city. I hope that helps.
