    Default Growth hormone???

Hi there, we've just been told our ds would qualify for growth hormone treatment because of his height and growth rate. Has anyone else been down this path? He producesgrowth hormone but for whatever reason isnt growing at an appropriate rate. He has been monitored bya paediatric endocrinologist since about 16 months so it isnt a recent thing. He isnt on the growth charts and has been moving further away. My dh and i arent tall but even factoring that in he isnt where he should be. We' re really struggling with the thought of giving him hormones and were hoping to hear of any other families in a similar situation.
    Thanks...
