Just wanting to vent about my best friend T...
We have been good friends for about 10 years. Yesterday my DF organised a surprise lunch for my birthday and invited all my friends. My best friend T was the only one who couldnt make it because she had to go to a fancy dress party that night. I'm just really annoyed that she didn't make any effort to come. Lunch was at 12pm, her party was at night. Surely there was more than enough time to go to both?
Just feeling a little peeved

Me too, couldn't read and not reply! I would be pretty upset and feel a bit ripped off by her. Xx

I know how you feel me now ex best friend of about 9 yrs was the same. She would always make excuses for mine or my kids birthdays or any special events.
We are no longer friends due to other reasons but my life is so much calmer and fulfilling not having the anxiety and disappointment because she was such a slack friend. But lesson learnt sometimes people are only in your life as long as they need to be to reach us life lessons I am very wary of unhealthy friendships now and would rather remove them then feel the hurt and pain from someone else's selfishness. I hope you had a wonderful birthday anyway

Perhaps she thought it was a dinner instead of a lunch? Maybe it's just a breakdown in communication between your DH and your friend?
Talk to her about it..

Doesn't sound like much of a friend to me.

How much notice did your DH give her? She may have had heaps to organise that day. If she's anything like me she might not have got her costume yet or be ready. Maybe she doesn't have the stamina for two events in one day. I can see how that would annoy you, but if she doesn't have a history of doing this then I would just accept she already had plans.
