Definitely depends on the workplace. My employer offers no paid paternity leave but upto 1 week unpaid leave, whereas women get six weeks full pay maternity leave and up to 2yrs unpaid leave. My DH works for Aust Defence and they get 2 weeks paid paternity leave and up to 1 or 2 yrs unpaid leave.
