Just use it! I wouldn't care personally, I don't see the big deal!

I wouldn't do it.. I'd be kind of upset about it. Any chance of buying it in another colour?
Maybe talk to her about it and see how she feels.

Bridesmaids vs SIL iwouldbe sticking to what i want, SIL will be super peed off if you go down the ssme roadas her colour wise... Just sayin! Bridesmaids are just that, they dont make decisions they get told what to do!!!!

To me it's single white female syndrome...there are so many colours in the rainbow! People who go to both weddings will think its odd that u have the same colour. She chose the colour and told you for a reason. Personally I have a real bug bear with this. The bridesmaid dresses will determine invite colour, chair colour, theme colour...just get your own image of your wedding and let your bridesmaids know your theme. Seriously you want a loving relationship with sil stay away from messing with her number 1 day.

Personally I wouldn't care.... But my wedding was basically just a party and unlike any other I have been to :|
So if SIL is like any other bride I know... Don't do it.
It is your day, don't go pleasing everyone else - there will always be something. Just make it perfect in YOUR eyes.
Mummy & Daddy - expanding our family! Our little man born April 2011 and now expecting another munchkin in August 2012! Loving it!!!!!

Just another thought.... If your wedding was AFTER hers, then maybe it would be less of an issue, you would just look like you were copying her and that could be flattering and complimentary, but because yours is BEFORE I think you run the risk of it looking nasty, if not in the eyes of SIL possibly by her friends or other family, why risk starting any controversy!

I wouldn't do it. If you weren't attached to that as a colour previously (and she obviously was), then I would keep looking for something else you like.
To go for the same colour would probably upset her, and could cause a big fallout. It's not really about who's 'right' - it's about what the kinder thing to do is, IMO.
