    Omg awesome thread although I am on the verge of throwing up.

    I don't eat out often and I highly doubt I will be getting take out any time soon.

    I've had flies in a salad from a cafe which has since gone bust.

    Apparently, but I can tell you in the 4-5 years I worked at McDonalds I have seen PLENTY of moldy cheeseburgers (when cleaning out the outside bins). Anything can be stopped from growing mould in the right conditions.

    Friends of mine used to work at subway. So many horror stories from there, the main two -

    The cooler broke down and was down for two days and instead of closing the store until it was fixed the owner made them serve all the food as normal...lots of food poisoning I'm going to guess

    This particular subway is on a river bank so they had a rat problem and one day the owner walked out the back, picked up a knife, stabbed a rat with it and then put it back in the bucket with all the other knives ready to cut up food to go on someone's roll

    Yep heard that... But I've only just resigned as a manager and I can tell you there has been plenty of times we've had to send buns back to Fresh Start (the company that we get our buns through) because of mould or other issues. This includes reg buns which we use for cheese burgers.

    I worked at dominos and during state of origin (busiest night) one of the cutters slicing the pizza was sweating so much it was dripping onto the pizza - he was just boxing them up like normal! I was also forced by my boss to keep making pizzas even though I had cut my finger and there was no gloves left ... I was 16 at the time and scared ****less of him so I did it... and just tried really hard not to use that finger Not a fast food story but at the tuckshop in high school I once ordered a hedgehog slice... Half way though eating it I looked down and saw HALF a cockroach stuck in the icing!! I vomited because I knew I'd obviously eaten the other half !!!
