I have a corolla and I have 2 kids. I fit my mountain buggy in there. Just take one of the wheels off. Takes about half a second.
Then I put shopping on top. Easy.
The car fits heaps, it's not an issue.

The BJ City Mini fit in our Corolla fine with shopping, and is the easiest thing to fold/unfold. I love it!
