Just wondering if anyone else has experienced weight loss in the last weeks of pregnancy? I was weighed just over 2 weeks ago and have lost 1.75kg. I've been eating the same and doing nothing different - just wondering if i should be concerned? I'm 40wks.

I lost 1.5kg the last week before having DS. I was told this was normal and many women lose a little weight before delivery. I was told because of changes in hormone levels you lose some fluid and it is an impending sign of labour. Goodluck!

I always lose a bit of weight in the third trimester because I just don't feel as hungry as the second trimester and I have little room for food in my squished up stomach.

All 3 of my pregnancies I lost weight right at the end- I put it down to not eating much because of the heartburn. In the 3rd trimester I would fluctuate up and down, but all 3 times I was exactly 2kgs heavier when I delivered than I was at 28 weeks.

I lost 6 kgs in the last week of pregnancy. Apparently its really common to lose up to 1-2 kgs in the last fortnight but 6kgs freaked everyone out! I was already 9 days overdue so ob said they would induce in the morning, bub must have heard as I went into labour that night and bub was born at 9am the next day. Perfectly healthy 3.4 kgs, no complications, straight forward vag birth.
He was born exactly the minute I was booked to turn up at the hospital.
Funniest thing is I got a narky call on my mob from the admissions clerk asking why I wasnt there to be induced!!
