Pregnancy My Baby and Me

You are invited to participate in a research study evaluating a brief, non-invasive guided relaxation exercise for use during pregnancy. The study is being conducted by researchers at the Centre for Emotional Health, Macquarie University.

The exercise draws on the principal of mindfulness, the capacity to remain aware of present-moment experience.

What’s involved?

During pregnancy ...

We’ll invite you to complete some online questionnaires about your mood and experiences of pregnancy. Some mothers may also be asked to listen to a 10-minute, recorded relaxation exercise for a period of 4 weeks, or until the birth of baby. We will provide a CD with full instructions to guide you through the procedure.

After your baby is born ...

We will invite you to complete some further online questionnaires about your relationship with your baby and your baby’s behaviour.

As a token of our appreciation for your participation in this study, we will reimburse you for your time with a gift voucher.
