My 9 week DS is formula fed. He was on S26 having bowel movements daily. But lots of spills. So I changed him to an AR formula. No spills but now he is struggling to do bowel movements, seems uncomfortable and spends much of the day grunting and pushing but no success. I have tried moving his legs, tummy rubs and brown sugar in water.
Any suggestions. Do i change formula and deal with the spills. Or continue with the uncomfortable attempts to poo?

When you say spills - do you mean the nappy is leaking? Cause now that I think about it my little fella (who's now 2) we use to give him s26 and we had lots of leaks but we just changed nappies untill we found one that stopped leaking. I didn't think about changing formula's. I guess if he seems uncomfortable maybe go back to the s26 or if you choose to stick with the AR maybe just give it a little time to his body gets use to the formula - In between feeds you maybe able to give some water - might help get DS going. Otherwise talk to you Dr about it for suggestions. Sorry if I haven't been much help.

Sorry I meant spills as in vomit. I changed him to the goat formula but he doesn't seem happy with that either. I guess it is to the doctor we go. And I think I may go back to s26 and try and keep him upright longer etc
