that's a lot! Does anyone in your area do bulk billing?
You would get something back from Medicare, but I think its less than half

Call up the ultrasound place and ask them, or get the item number from them and then call medicare to ask.
I have had two $250 ultrasounds and got back $40 something, then $100 for the second. So you really need the specific item number to know.

No one bulk bills. I'll have to call. I'm freaking out at only getting $40 back!!
It's a renal U/S..

Are you sure that there is absolutely no one that bulk bills?
I had two scans at a bulk bill clinic, one for the ultra sound the other for my thyroid as they thought it might be effecting the baby. My last I had to pay for and it cost $240 and I receive $85 back although I'm still yet to claim that back. This scan I was given 3d/4d shots of the baby so I didn't mind paying... but otherwise I would of found a bulk billing practice as the cost is pretty excessive... even more so if you this is your first one because there's nothing to really see.

Thanks guys. I don't have a healthcare card or anything. We have one place that's bulk bills that does x-rays. I can call and see if they do ultrasounds too. But her referral is addressed to this specific place.
