Thank you so much everyone, it sounds as clear as getting the visa in the first place (not very). Will def call immigration and will post an update here in case it helps.

I'd be really grateful if you do so I can mention it to my colleague.

Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy.

Hmmm, sort of. I can apply for a partner (defacto) visa now because I have been with my boyfriend who is a citizen for over 12 months. While I wait to have the X-ray they will grant me a bridging visa. When bub is born (end august) I can get X-ray and complete my defacto visa. When / if this is approved I will move off 457 to defacto. What I don't know is how may leave works on 457 until that point. Had a positive 12 week scam today so will broach with HR at work tomorrow. Any joy from anyone else?

Hi Twitchit. As an Aus Citizen your partner will qualify for Baby Bonus, FTB and Rental Assistance depending on your combined income.

Does anyone else know any more about this? My friend is on a 457 and is 13 weeks pregnant and she is not sure how much time off she will be able to have...
