Had anyone ever had a gender prediction at 13 week scan by the ultrasound technician? Were they right or wrong? I heard its only 70% accurate using nub theory at this early stage.

My sonographer wouldn't even look let alone guess for both my pregnancies saying it was way too early to tell.
Will be interesting to see what other mums have been told

Though only a week later at my ob appointment we asked her and she managed to get a good view on her machine (which would be no where near as good as scan places) and told us boy which was correct!

We have been told boy at our 13 week gender scan last monday. We had 3/4D scan included as well and she said that they can tell with 80% accuracy most times at that stage as they use very up to date and sensitive machines - which are always improving!! We got a glorious nub shot just about sticking straight up and she was so certain of the gender that she even wrote "I'm a Boy!!" on that particular picture. She said if it turned out to be a girl she would eat her hat!
I dont have image posting privellages on here other wise i would post the pic and you can see for yourself! We are Obvioulsy going to double check at the 20 week scan but im so curious to see if she was correct that i am thinking of a private 3 d scan again at about 16 weeks just to see if we get the same result. My partner and i have 4 girls between us so you can imagine our excitement at the prospect of a boy- just cant get too excited just yet till fully confirmed

Thanks jazzy mummy. My sonographer at our scan guessed based on nub theory and showed us why on the screen. I like you want to have a 16 week scan to confirm.

Jazzymummy can you post after your 16 week scan? What did they guess you were having?
Anyone else get a gender guess early? Was the sonographer right?
