Cot, ended up co sleeping
Baby bjorn, should of bought an ergo to start with.
Too much clothing, should of gone with jumpsuits as a basis and just bought a few nice outfits.
Bottles, formula and dummies for "just in case".
Automatic swing, babywearing worked better and this time I just have a cheap bouncer.
Rocking chair, I prefer to feed laying down.
Finally got it right the 3rd time around, could of saved myself a lot of money!

Steriliser. DH gave DS a few bottles. I think I used it three times, before I decided to just wash in hot agitator soapy water and air dry.

One of those things that rocks your baby. DD hated it. So then I bought one that vibrated instead - and she hated it too! So I now have 2 identical Fisher Price baby rock/ vibrate things...
A big expressing kit thing that came in a bag so that you could take it out with you. I used the pump, but ended up bottlefeeding quite early on, so it wasn't needed.
A matching cot set, for the reasons people said above.
A thing to keep your baby safe while you co-sleep, which never came out of its box as I didn't co-sleep.
Probably more that I've forgotten. I have a cupboard full of it all in case the next baby uses some of these things!

Hardly used the change table with either child.
Nappy bin was useless.
Bouncer cause my kids never liked it.
Baby Bjorn as kids didn't like being in it and it really hurt my back.

Baby carrier... Too hot to use and DS loves being in his pram anyway. A play mat... DS liked it for 2 weeks n now hates being on it. Bassinette... he went in it for a week then decided he hated being in it so for now we co sleep ( he wouldnt sleep anywhere else). Rocking chair... we thought it would help but hardly use it... only as an extra chair in the lounge.

Thanks ladies, I really enjoyed reading about the things you haven't used. Its funny I put one of those fisher price bouncer/vibrator thing on layby as I thought "this will handy when I am cooking dinner and bubs is awake, i can sit her/him in the kitchen with me and not worry", now im not sure I will need it!
I also want a sling, as I am staying clear of a capsule and decided that if I need to duck into the supermarket I will put bubs in a sling instead - looks like the ergo is the way to go!
Keep 'em coming - this is so insightful for a first time mum!!

I never had a vibrating bouncer, but a swing - my god beast thing I ever purchased!
Such a god send.
Nappy bag... I either use a backpack or my country road bag.

By the way - is putting babies bottles in the dishwasher as effective as a steriliser? My dishwasher gets so bloomin hot and steamy that I figure that will be effective!
