Hi @RYDORI so sorry to hear your news. I had 2 semen analysis November last year both negative and have had surgery and a biopsy with no sperm. I've been diagnosed with Sertoli cell only syndrome. My wife and I felt exactly the same as you both we just cried and I was tearing up reading this. This site is great and it's so helpful being able to talk to people who are going through the same things and have success stories

@RYDORI: I am so sorry to hear about your news. It is devastating. Hugs. I have limited internet access here ATM...so just want to pop in. Michael Allen is great. Please wait for the BT results. I suspect it is a non obstructive case. Did the fs tell you anything about the sample diagnosis? Like ladies on the other azoo thread have mentioned. There is one last option of BT comes back clear.......I will post more later. Our journey was mentioned on the other azoo threads. We have crossed to the other side, though. But had been in your shoes for 3 yrs. it is a long hard journey.

Hugs @RYDORI. There are a lot of difficult days ahead but just take them one at a time - one decision at a time. Things will hopefully become clearer for the two of you as time goes on and you get more information about your options. It's not the path you chose, but it's not the end. I have a raucous toddler who has a beautiful relationship with his dad - he's definitely a product of my husband and I, and we are nothing but grateful for the donor who helped us to have him.

@RYDORI: it is a long journey. I don't want to flood you with too much info. Like sunflower has said. Take it one day at a time. Hugs.

Default Reply to my post "shattered"

Thank you all so very much for your kind words. I havent posted since my first post. DH & I returned to Hollywood Fertility Centre for our BT results.... its a non obstructive case & he is not a cf carrier & chromosomes are normal. The specialist said it could be a chemical thing? Like we get a chemical in our brains as females to ovulate, men have one to produce sperm. He said that could be the case here but we wont know for sure until we have a surgical biopsy.
Our FS said its one of those cases where its not the ideal outcome and referred us to another Specialist for biopsy.

We met with the new specialist and to be honest didnt really get anything out of the appointment, none of our information or previous records from hollywood had been sent over like they were supposed to so we were left trying to explain to the new specialist our situation blindly.
The new specialist couldnt grasp what we were trying to explain which was absolutley frustrating. This was over 6 months ago now. We have not gone back since. We just feel like we need a second opinion and to start over. Literally feel like we are lost when it comes to this. We are both turning 30 this year and I feel like we need answers asap. Does anyone have any recommendations for a fertility specialist who performs surgical biopsies in Perth?

@RYDORI: I can't send you a PM because you are new on bubhub. You need to have 5 posts before i can PM you. In any case, I can just post it here. The non-obstructive azoo road is not easy. Fertility treatment has SLOWLY caught up in perth in the last few years. When a few of us on in WA on this road few years ago, we all ended up going east for the best possible chance. No one at the time in WA could do mTESE (an invasive procedure which the surgeon "peels" the testicles like an onion to look for sperms). TESE can be done by pretty much any FS with training. Because you guys are dealing with non-obstructive, I would go with mTESE straight away. Don't waste your time with TESE. Basically, just a few random cuts and hopefully sperms in these samples. With mTESE, the surgeon actually spends time looking for sperms. This is usually done concurrently with an IVF cycle. Of course, if you just want a diagnosis, perhaps a TESA -- a needle aspiration (can be done under local aneasthetic) to see what you are dealing with before deciding on mTESE?

OK....the last i heard, Dr Teh at concept is the new WA surgeon who does mTESE. BUT that's what i heard, so it is best for you to call the clinic and ask. Be aware that some nurses don't know the terminology. Perhaps making an appointment to discuss? We are all here to help. I know some people always trust the dr but i personally felt like i should be ahead on my own research especially this is our ONLY chance. Our first FS in perth told us to use donor sperms straight away and will only do the TESE surgery once we have it as a back up on the day of surgery. We lost trust knowing the surgery would just be brushing us off......After so many suggestions on the other azoo forum, we decided to get a second opinion in the east. They do phone consult. They also seem to have a new treatment to try lately and have success.

@bbhope Thankyou so much for everything your reply. Dr Teh is the specialist we went to after hollywood. Perhaps it was just the case of our information not yet being transferred over to them with our referral when we met with him. DH has already had the TESE = 0 result right away. They done the TESE at our very first appointment at hollywood. This is why we have beeb referred on to Dr Teh @ concept. Same thing with us though as you mentioned, were advised to use donor sperm right away. A concept we arent ready to consider yet. Ive just phoned Hollywood again today to refresh me on my DH's test results we had last time for CF & chromosomes.... we have just got married 2 months ago & after taking some time off all this we have decided to really grab the bull by the horns and get some answers. Thankyou so much for your support by saying your all here to help answer questions and listen, it really is wonderful. Also may I ask for a contact number for over east? If you like you can email me directly donnapope01@gmail.com
    Thankyou again so much 🤗
