I'd say it was 9-12 months before I felt my old self again. I put on 25kg and have (at 12 months later) lost 20kg. That pesky last 5kg won't budge but I'm not exactly trying and I feel so much better than I did 6 months ago.
I just eat smaller meals and snack healthily, and do a pilates reformer bed class once a week. And walk every day with the pram.

6 months. I just went back to my regular exercise routine within the first 10 weeks or so. But i've put on 5kgs recently, then got pregnant, so there'll be more to lose next time. Bugger.

10 days & was all gone.
Mind you, I didn't gain any weight other than baby, placenta & fluid.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I am very impatient and have expected things to happen quickly, but I was very wrong!! I am almost 5 weeks post partum (not that long I know) and I am dying to lose the weight. I put on about 13kgs and still have 7 to go. I was a size 8 and I'm having a hard time getting used to my new body! The worst thing is I'm so exhausted to even think about exercising half the time!

You'll get there! I was lucky n lost 15kg in 8 weeks and seemed to lose another kilo every few weeks. I think breastfeeding helped, eating vegetarian food and walking to the shops is all I do. I go against the rules and weigh myself everyday. 1st thing in the morning. It's the only way I encourage myself daily to look after myself. Weight watcher people would kill me!

I came home from hospital with a total weight gain of 3kgs. Then gained like 10 kgs - whoops. So I weight 13kgs more than pre-preg when he was 1. Then I lost 20kgs by the time he was 26 months.

I lost my baby weight within 2 weeks with both my kids.
However my body never went back to how it was pre babies.
My waist has expanded by about 2 inches. So I will never fit into my old jeans. But you learn to dress to suit your new figure!

I didn't have any baby weight to lose I ate well and exercised through my pregnancy and was fit and healthy to begin with and I was back looking like me (clothed) within the first couple of weeks.
Taking a couple of months after the baby was born to re-build my fitness levels etc. and when all my kids were 5 months old was when I felt like I was back to the me that was there before kids (as much as it could be anyway).

About 8 weeks for both DS1 and DS2. No excercising here, just breastfeeding and unfortunately for me there hasn't been ANY kilos hanging around. I've gone past pre-pregnancy weight and and down an extra 12kgs with my 97th percentile bubba.
