Must feel so freeing to finally be able to go where you want not having to rely on public transport and other drivers!!
Ps if you MIL thinks your a golddigger over a 4k car she has rocks in her head lol

I'm 29 this year with absolutely no desire to learn how to drive but my brother learnt at 25 and now has his own car and loves it well done!

That is absolutely brilliant! Congratulations!
Now you can cruise around in your new car and 'accidentally' bump into MIL's mailbox!
You have totally inspired me; I am 28 and have a huge fear of driving. But I will get my licence, too, damn it!

To those who have yet to take the test - good luck! I found it was far scarier in my head than it was in reality. lol.
As for my first drive alone - I attempted to do this just before. Claiming I needed to go to Woolies to "get some things." I didn't really need anything, but wanted to drive alone. A 5 mins drive. lol. DP came with me though, cos he wanted to get something (and wouldn't just accept me getting it for him... lol), so tomorrow I'm going by myself to the daycare centre to sign some before school care paperwork.
And on Saturday, I have quite a long solo drive (well, with DD in hte car) planned... to my mother's, so she can watch DD and I can go out.
And as to MIL... she is nuts if she thinks I'm in this relationship for the car, but jeez I am so glad to have it!
