    I know what it's like to be one of the faceless workers that deals with child abuse and constantly cops crap from every direction for a doing a job most people don't want to do. I know how chronically under funded the system is and how the workers are begging for more resources and more workmates to shoulder the load. I also know that those that go on about how their kids were taken "for no reason" 99% of the time are full of it...

    'all' pink ladys apples are 'last seasons'.. i was told by my fruit and veg markets today :-O

    how do they do it? freeze them i guess but yes, if you buy a pink lady apple your buying last season produce (apparently)

    i heard this is true - they keep them in chilled, gas filled rooms that preserves them.

    That's weird. Why do they do that? Don't they grow them yearly? How odd. I love a pink lady too.

    My husband used to work for Woolworths and it is true that they often use defrosted fruit.

    This is more an interesting fact but the campaign run (I think by NRMA?) promoting to un-RACQ was funnily enough a massive backfire fail on their behalf. They didn't patent that slogan sonRACQ went and legalized ownership of the slogan 'un-RACQ' and cost NRMA millions in advertising (they had to remove all billboards and cancel radio advertising etc). Smart work by RACQ!

    So many apples i have got from the shops recently have been gross. Very disappointing, especially when it's being purchased to fill a pregnancy craving, and you bite into them and they're all flour'ey'. Yuk.
