    did they call back?

only other thing i can think of apart from someone wanting to serve papers or creditors is a private investigator looking at him for some reason.

    no call.
I really cannot imagine it was a debt collector ..or we were being served.
We are pretty open..company on the web, DH is highly moral and is often invited to talk about such things.

we have an accountant and lawyers, who are easy to find.

this is dodgy! ...i dont like it..I hope they are looking for someone else.
    DH's name is pretty common.

I wonder if it was just a prank call? You know, kids pulling names out of a phone book and calling them at random, to do the whole "Is your fridge running? Well, you'd better go catch it! hahahahaha!" kind of thing? The giggling and carrying on would support that theory...I don't think any person with a legitimate reason would act that way during a phone call.

It would freak me out, too, though, so I can understand why you're feeling ill at ease about it.

Oh god that is very creepy, I would be worried too. So this person knew your hubbys name and address? You have ruled out a debt collector, I know private investigators do this kind of thing too. I don't think it would be a prank caller, why would they call the neighbour and not your place in the first instance. Very weird! Couldn't be someone looking for your hubby from the past or something?
