Ok so i had an infected wisdom tooth while pregnant and told that the tooth needed to be removed so the dentist temporarily filled it for the time being. It hasn't caused me any further problems so I wasn't in a hurry to return to the dentist to have it removed (baby is now 9mths old). Today part of the tooth came out whilst having lunch so there's only a quarter of the tooth remaining, I will make an appointment with the dentist on Monday. I'm thinking I won't have a crown, I will just leave it as it's the back tooth so what's the point of replacing it and spending a fortune. Anyone else experienced simular? Thoughts??

very hard to know what to do without seeing it and the rest of your teeth. If it is the 8th tooth back from the centre front, then it is a wisdom tooth, if there is no opposing tooth then having it out is a good option. Sore teeth can be a sign of infection so need to be treated.

Both my top wisdom teeth fell apart in my mouth cause I was too scared to get them out and I couldn't brush them.

I was recently given the option of having my two top wisdom teeth filled, which I would need to have done repeatedly as they are higher than the rest of my teeth and I can't brush them properly, or have them removed. I have chosen to have them out, just trying to get up the nerve to have it done. Also, since then part of one of mine has broken off too. My theory behind having them out is that it will be cheaper in the long run, it's probably faster to have them removed than filled and I hate them working at the back of my mouth like that and that no one will notice that they're gone as you can't see them.

I personally wouldn't waste my money crowing a wisdom tooth. Too far back in the mouth!
