    Definitely agree with you! So many kids shows and movies have references to adult themes and objects (ie new puss in boots has suicide! - well, self sacrifice through suicide). Does woody from toy story have a pistol? Not sure, but figured he would seeing as he's a cowboy

    A lot of pg movies have guns etc in them. I'm a mean mummy and only let the kids watch abc kids or a few select g movies. Toy story is not one of the movies I allow lol!
    Hence so far I've managed to avoid the gun exposure. I know it will change with kindy etc but I'm happy like it is

    I have never made a fuss over it, and at 8 she doesn't see guns themselves as toys, but it happy to play and shoot the type I mentioned earlier in a non-violent way.

    Don't really see a huge problem with it. Unless you go everywhere with your kids they'll have friends with them. They just need to be educated about real ones and how bad they are etc etc.
