I would tell her the truth, and explain why.

Be honest. I'm sure she'll understand that it is something you want to share with your family.

Just make sure you let her know how important she is to you and that she will be the first to see the gorgeous pics

I'd just be honest with her.

I know she will understand, she has two kids so she knows what it's like; she's a great person and not petty like that, I just feel bad having to say, hey, about the ultrasound, well I'd love you there but..
ya know? Maybe it's just me over analysing..

Yes, I was tempted to blame DH, lol, terrible I know, but then I'd feel bad using him as the scapegoat! Bloody empathy..

I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and call her with all the goss as soon as the scan is done.

    Appreciate all the advice everyone

I would take the easy option and say the ultrasound place won't allow anyone except family in the room!

I would tell the truth... i'm sure she will understand.

Maybe she only asked as this is your 2nd baby? and thought that it may be ok to tag along.

Honestly they only like having you and ur husband sometimes child (not friends etc) I had a student midwife come with dh and I but they still wouldnt let her come in till we had a good look for at least 30 mins (took an hour) reason being was just incase there was something wrong with baby. They don't want others knowing until ur ready ifkwim.

So she will have to stay outside for most of it anyway.
