DH and I are about to start TTC but i've been seeing posts refering to BMI or weight limits for private hospitals. I'm currently slooowly loosing weight but it's pretty tough and we are really keen to start TTC...
Does anyone know if there is a set BMI limit or if everywhere is different? Is BMI calculated at the start of pregancy or on admission? What have people's experiences been?

BMI and private hospitals

My private hospital and OB will accept me. But since I had a BMI of 40 at conception, I am only allowed/strongly recommended to gain 5kg through the whole pregnancy.
You should be ok.

All hospitals are different. The best thing to do is call the maternity ward at the hospital you want to go to and ask them. My private hospital excepts all BMIs. There is a public hosp near me which won't take anyone with a BMI over 35 so it's not only private that have rules on BMI. Good luck

It depends on whether they have an adult ICU, usually. It also goes on your BMI at the end of the pregnancy.
I would definitely check with the hospital before making a decision on where to go.
