    Default Follicle size at cd12

Mine was only 16-17mm - normally on cd13 they measure 20mm. I'm concerned that this month they are too small, although my FS said that he's happy with it and he predicts that I should ovulate around cd14 or so.

Does anyone know if a follicle that size will ovulate and how much do they normally grow per day? Sorry of this is a silly question. I know I shouldn't second guess my FS but it's just not as big as they normally are. (this is a medicated cycle as well)

    Hi!

Generally anything 16mm and greater could contain a mature egg and therefore could ovulate. The reality is it's more likely to be 18mm and up, and for some people it may be as large as 22mm+ when they actually ovulate. The older you are, the more likely you are to ovulate on a smaller follicle (ie 16mm). Generally, the follicles grow about 2mm a day so yours could easily be 20mm by d14 at the rate they are going now. Hope this helps!
