Default So I'm thinking of getting a tattoo

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo 'Alis volat propriis'

Which is latin for 'She flies with her own wings'

Do you think it's lame?? Where do you think I should get it??

Are you getting it just as script or with a pic or shading? Just script - on your wrist if you want a constant reminder or on your ribs? with a pic as an arm piece or shoulder? Good luck with deciding.

Around your wrist or ankle is cool I think.

No tattoo is lame if it has meaning to you. One of my tats is a butterfly on my tummy which most ppl (incl the tattoo artist at the time who said I was the fifth girl to get it that day!) think is highly un-original...I got it because I always had anxiety as a kid so wanted butterflies on the outside instead of inside my tummy!

I also have a rule that I have to want a particular piece for 6-12mths before I get it, just to be safe!

Not a single parent, sorry to crash but this is a great rule. I carried pictures of all my tattoo around with me for about a year before getting inked. Everyday id look at them to see if I still liked them. I love everyone of my tattoos

I think its a beautiful tattoo...how big are you thinking of getting it?
I would say inside wrist or top of your back, between your shoulder blades

I would be getting it somewhere that you can show or hide.. getting it on your ankle or wrist sounds like a really bad idea - that is unless you want to restrict yourself to only certain times of places, people, jobs and situations... the reality is, tattoos say more about you than you probably want.. I'd think really carefully about having it on show all the time.

I think that sounds lovely! I'm not a fan of tattoos unless they are really meaningful.

I would want it somewhere I could see it but also hide if necessary. Foot? Tummy?

Hop on ebay and get some kind of temporary tattoo that is roughly the same size and shape as what you want to get done. Place it on the spot you think you want your real tat and see if after a few days, you still like it in that spot. If not, get another one and put it in a different spot. You can get temporary tats on ebay that need to be taken off with alcohol rubs, so they wont just wash off in the shower.....will last long enough for you to get an idea if you like the spot or not.

As for the words you've chosen, I think its lovely
