Default You know whats really irking my babana today?...

My DD absolutly LOVES 'in the night garden'.

Im currently searching high and low for 'in the night garden' plush toys.

Someone PLEASE tell me WHY the vast majority of the Upsey Daisy dolls are white? She is CLEARY very dark skinned on the show and in the books. So WHY are all the toys (including the licensed ones) White? Please explain.

The ones I have seen she is brown. Maybe they bought out new ones and changed her. Don't know why they would though. That's disappointing.

I remember reading about this a while ago. Apparently there were a number of complaints about the dolls being 'too white' and a few years ago BBC ordered Hasbro to redo the doll design and bring out a darker one. Their explanation was the doll was modelled on the animated versions rather than the puppet and the animation has lighter skin. (strange explanation if you ask me).

So older dolls are lighter and newer ones should be darker.

Ridiculous that the dolls weren't done properly to begin with. Upsy Daisy has dark skin.

How bizarre! I actually hadn't noticed upsy daisy had dark skin! I had to google image search it. Learn a new thing every day!

That's great. And really ridiculous they made 'white' upsy daisy plush dolls!

I haven't seen the dolls but I don't understand why she has dark skin most of the show & then white skin in the animation at the end

My niece got a new fair skinned Upsie Daisy for Xmas, so they must still be making them.

The ones I've seen that are dark have come from the UK, but the ones here seem to be fair skinned. I made an Upsy Daisy cake for my DD last year and made her skin brown and everybody was questioning me as to why she was so dark. It was really odd, I thought it was obvious she has dark skin.

I've often wondered this myself when I've come across some at the shops. We don't own an Upsy Daisy (YET!). But we do have an extra large Makka Pakka

Thanks MerryR I hadnt thought to try BigW!

Ive been searching online, at kmart, target and toys'r'us.

all the dark skin ones ive seen on ebay dont look like licensed ones. Maybe they are but they dont look much like the ones on TV. All the white ones seem to look much more like the TV Upsy Daisy. and I agree its very disappointing.
