I was only ever a green or black tea drinker... but I can't stand stuff that's too hot.
When we were in Japan I got hooked on MUGICHA or barley tea and I LOVE it! You can drink it hot or cold (and the japanese serve it to you cold in every restaurant)
I can't get enough of the stuff.
I should mention that mugicha has cured my CONSTANT utis! (as in if I wasn't on antibiotics, I'd have one within a few days of BD...

I drink black tea in the morning x 2 cups cause it wakes me up either English breakfast, earl grey or just good old tetley.
I drink peppermint tea because I find it makes my tummy feel good especially if I have had a big meal or something spicy, with lots of onion or garlic.
I drink green tea because it suppresses my appetite nothing fancy just any green tea does the job.
I drink camomile at night because it relaxes me and I find I have a better sleep after drinking it.

I am a huge fan of T2 teas. My favorite is their French Earl Grey and their Purely Peppermint. Both are delicious! They make a wonderful fruity one called Strawberries and Cream which is delicious chilled in summer.
If you can get to a T2 store, they normally have heaps of different varieties brewed for you to do a taste test. Alternatively, you can buy packages that have 9 or so sample sizes of their most popular teas in them.
I find that I genuinely enjoy drinking tea. Coffee gives me a headache, and I have to limit my intake of dairy, so tea without milk is the perfect hot drink for me. In terms of health benefits, reducing the amount of caffeine you have has to be a good thing. Herbal blends often have other benefits that would be similar to the produce they are made from, e.g. Peppermint is a natural diuretic and can help with relaxation, as can chamomile. The tannins in black tea and the anti-oxidants are supposed to help reduce your cancer risk, but it's difficult to say how successful this is outside a laboratory. Tea is easier for your body to absorb and utilize, whereas coffee and the caffeine chemicals are similar to your body breaking down the sugars in alcohol.
I hope this helps
