    Default Possible Endometriosis?

I hope this is in the right section..!

I've had pelvic pain for as long as I can remember. Excluding when I was pregnant I get it most days (although some days it is very fleeting and mild). S3x is always painful, moving my bowels is often painful, and I get very frequent UTI's. During my period it is very uncomfortable to walk and stand up, although not crippling. Sometimes the pain is crampy, sometimes it is stabbing, sometimes a dull ache.

I have had ovarian cysts, one which resulted in an ovarian torsion (cyst big and heavy so it twists the ovary). I have also had breast cysts. I did achieve a pregnancy, and am now 5 months postpartum. But I did have a few very early losses prior, and bleeding throughout the first trimester.

I went to the GP yesterday and she suspected endometriosis. For those of you with endometriosis, do these symptoms sound familiar? I have an appointment with a gyno...but was wondering what will usually happen after this? Would be very interested in hearing your stories

    Sounds exactly like my PCOS...
If you have had cysts I'm not sure why they didn't diagnose or do more investigating? Fingers crossed you get some answers soon!

Some of your symptoms sound like mine & I have endo. If it is endo your symptoms may ease since you have had a baby. It generally gives you some relief because you do not have your period for nine months. As pp post said maybe they should explore what's causing the cysts. Good luck.

To me it sounds a bit different in that you have more symptoms especially with cysts. I have endo, I get terrible cramps, diarrhea around when my period is due, nausea, hormone headaches and heavy bleeding. I had an ectopic pregnancy potentially caused by it. I've been on the pill a long time that helped eased symptoms because you don't get the endometrial layer building up if you skip your period. I don't get UTIs or painful s3x. I have also had a miscarriage but my GP said it wasn't related. I know a few people who have had a laparoscopy to investigate and 'clean' it out. I haven't gone this track and I also did not get any symptoms when I was pregnant. Nor did I after the miscarriage for the first two months.
Definitely follow up- perhaps an ultrasound might shed some light???

Some symptoms sound like endo. I have extensive endo as well as PCOS. The thing about endo though is that symptoms can vary so much from person to person. And the severity of symptoms does not always correlate with the severity of the endo. My symptoms were extreme pain associated with period as well as nausea, pain during intercourse, bowel issues - constipation then diarrhea with period. The only way to get a definite diagnosis is with a laparoscopy - will only show on ultrasound if it is extremely severe and even then it apparently doesn't always show. Definitely see your gynae, if it bad enough to effect your day to day living then its worth getting sorted out. Good luck
