Good news, he is much better, the antibiotics seem to be working as he is much better! Not sure about the connection to the other limping episodes...but anyway at least he is on the mend!

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes! Awesomesauce, I would love to hear more details about your DS as you are the first person I have come across who has mentioned recurring septic arthitis. How old was he when it started? How often and how long do the episodes happen? So it happens in both ankles at different times? Is the infection always in the joint (not bone or muscle). Has anyone told you why it started happening? (injury/ growing pains/ something else?)

My DS is alot brighter than a few days ago so they are assuming the antibiotics are working however the fluid they took from the joint was clear, no pus (so no infection in the joint) so they are assuming that the infection is in the bone. The culture done from the fluid didn't grow anything so unfortunately they are working blind and just going on his clinical signs. He still has a very bad limp and quite alot of swelling on the foot, it looks to me as though he will be limping for a long time yet, and I still have that feeling that this may not be his last limping episode..hope I'm wrong!

Anyway, would love any more info - Thanks
