Default How early can you detect pregnancy on an ultrasound?

    Hi guys,

Just curious if anyone knows the answer to this? I'm assuming that an internal would pick it up earlier?

    TIA

My snographer told me they can see a sac and a 2millimeter "baby" as early as 4-5 weeks pregnant, with an internal obviously. With my first pregnancy I was 5+ 3or4 and I saw her as a spec on the screen lol

I think I had a scan at about 5 weeks n you could see a fetal pole and sac or yoke or something. A week after that a heart beat! :-)

you can't see before 4 weeksish. Because before that it is to small to see.

If you want to know a HPT is your best bet. A scan isn't best until after 6 weeks.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I won't ask them to check for me when I go for one next week... Don't want to seem too keen

Think I'm just going to have to cave & do a hpt

    Hi there,

We were 4 wks 3 days when an ultrasound picked our pregnancy up. It would only come up on an internal one & it took a while for them to find the sac. Only thing they could find was the sac, too early for anything else to come up.

    Good luck!
