    Default Art supplies?

My 2 year old got an easel for Christmas and now I have to get some art supplies. I'm a it shocked by the prices! Anyone have any good suggestions? We need a whole range of paints, butchers paper, moulds etc

    Thanks

Do you have an Ikea near by? They are brilliant for rolls of paper and brushes.

I spent money on quality washable paints. I got mine from ELC on sale. Riot and crayola are good too. Just remember you need to keep the paint wet for it to be washable.
Riot art had a sale on paint tubs so I got them for 99c each instead of the $3 they normally are.
Shaving brushes are brilliant paint brushes for little hands as they are short and thick and are cheap from $2 shops. $2 shops also often have sets of paint brushes for kids.
We got a whole slab of butcher's paper from a storage place that sells boxes etc. It is all cut to size so I don't have to stress about cutting wet paper from a roll. Roll paper is good too. We make roads etc and I don't need to worry about the end of a page stifling his creativity.

I second Ikea for the paper and brushes...and have you thought about making paint? I don't know if two year olds still put everything in their mouths, but my 16 month old does, so I made paint that I knew would be fine if he ate it.
It's actually really good! I'm not sure what recipe I used, just google a recipe

I paint myself as well as the kids. I go to Riot. But even the "cheap shops" - think Crazy Clark's etc - have paint and supplies cheap.

I was hoping you would see this since I saw the fantastic present you got for your daughter. What a lucky girl!
