Pale If i tried to tan i would freckle eventually anyway and i hate that look. I don't like tanning at all and avoid being in the sun.

I'm A4 pale and love it (although finding foundation to match it is a b!tch!), DH is half Maori and very tanned-looking, and I love that too.
As long as the skin is healthy, your natural colour will always be the best for you.
(Having said that, I'm still going to do the spray-tanning part of my makeup course- not that I'll be using it on myself, but I fully intend to cash in on those who actually prefer to look like Oompaloompas.)
