Default Is Galliers maternity ward closing again?

I remember reading something about galliers maternity ward closing for good in the local papers before xmas but cannot find anything on the net.
The govt tried to close it back in 2009 but after alot of help from our local member of parliament Alanna MacTiernan and the papers and all the expectant mothers including myself we fought and won to keep it open.
Galliers is a private wing of a public hospital with a medical and maternity ward which offers the chance for partners to stay during and after the birth ,private rooms for all patients and a natural birthing philosophy.
I would be very upset if this ward has indeed closed leaving the mothers no choice but to birth on the public side of the hospital where the partners are not allowed to stay ,where most of the rooms are shared and intervention and medically controlled birth is their following.
So can anyone who is going or was going there inform me a little more? TIA

I had my DD at Galliers Nov'10, I'm booked in for #2 in May.

Basically the private birthing suites aren't operating at the moment. You do all your antenatal care through Bickley, then go over to Maud Bellas when you come in in labour. You birth over there, once its all over you go back to Bickley for your postnatal stay. The midwives all work in the birthing suites, so its luck of the draw who you get when you go into labour (and a much bigger pool, so you're unlikely to get anyone you know unfortunately).

Thats a shame as I found birthing at Bickley to be totally different to MBs ,I worked on both sides too and found the atmosphere to be diff with the staff aswell ,at least the partners can still stay which is a relief. Glad that the lovely middies from bickley are still working there.
