We went to Fiji in 2010 for our wedding anniversary (in November) and stayed at the Hideaway on the Coral Coast. It was lovely, we took DS who was 13 months at the time and it was a great holiday.

However before having DS we used to go to Vanuatu for our wedding anniversary and TBH we prefer Vanuatu to Fiji. It's smaller, the flight time about the same, much more romantic and easier to get around and do stuff than Fiji.

I've been to Fiji twice and Vanuatu once. I would def recommend Fiji. I love it there - the people are so relaxed and it is really friendly. I personally wouldn't stay on the coral coast though. It is too far from everything and the beaches are average. If you can, stay on an island or maybe in denarau island and plan lots of trips to the islands. Snorkeling is the best there!!!

no worries, i wasnt sure what other info you were after and didnt want to post an epic story here, so if you have any questions just let me know

if you're planning on spending most of your time in/around your resort then all inclusive is the way to go. unless you go in to sigatoka (if you stay on the coral coast that is) there isnt many places to dine out, unless you visit one of the resorts which can be a bit pricey. Casablanca hotel does do pizzas really cheap, havent tried any of their other food though

I thought it was worth it, only because we were away from shops/restaurants and only staying at the resort. We didn't sight see away from our surrounds so didn't have to rush back from anything and miss meal times etc. They were extremely generous with the meals at all three sessions, (breakfast, lunch, dinner) we were certainly never hungry.
I didn't opt to have the all inclusive drinks as I couldn't justify the extra $$ when I am more or less a tee totaller.

I have been to Fiji NUMEROUS times. Our fave is the Warwick.

Have also stayed at Outrigger, Shangri-La Fijian and Plantation Island (wasn't as happy with these).

We LOVE getting all our meals included as the meals are quite expensive when you get there. Or at least get breakfast included (we often have a huge hot buffet brekkie, don't need lunch, and then have dinner). Ask your travel agent to get you a deal.

May-September is a great time to go weather-wise (Nov-Apr is wet season).

Nadi isn't very nice, just a busy "city". Some of the Indian-Fijian population there can be quite pushy (trying to sell you things, get you in their stores etc.) whereas out on the resorts the native Fijians are just lovely, such beautiful people!
