If there is something in the court system in regards to you, you can find this out. You would need to call the courts though not legal aid. So probably the Federal Magistrates Court closet so you.

Not sure in regards to a location order if you are notified or not. In all our past court orders it is part of the order that we must notify the other party of a change in address or phone numbers within 7 days of the change. This seems to be pretty common to all orders I have read.

If there are safety issues you would need to go through the courts to get it down on paper so that he does not have to know your contact details.

You should talk to a lawyer specialising in Family Law as soon as you can. So many things that you can think is doing the right thing may in fact not be.

If you are in Brisbane I can give you a number of a great family law lawyer (although she is not cheap).

Thanks for your reply, I am not in Brisbane anymore. It is a confusing thing, you think you are protecting your child and doing right by them.

By location order, do you mean recovery order? It seems really bizarre if that is the case, particularly if you have attempted to arrange visitations. It's not something the Court would authorise in the circumstances you have mentioned.

Either way, it's not secret, you can contact the Court to find out. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend getting yourself a lawyer who specialises in family law.
