Default I'm having twins in Melbourne and looking for hospital and ob

    Hi there

DH and I found out last week that we are having twins (due early July) . I was planning on going to Sandringham hospital with midwife care (as I did with my first singleton pregnancy) - but I need to reassess this now that we are having twins. Can anyone please share their twin pregnancy and birthing experiences with hospitals and obs? I live in South East Melbourne and am happy to go private and travel if need be. I am also looking for an ob who is pro vaginal birth and specialises in multiple births. $$ is not an issue as I now have PHI (although I know I will still be out of pocket) and want the best monitoring for my babies. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks everyone

Euan Wallace is amazing at Monash hospital but you will be $7K out of pocket even with PHI. He is very pro vbac and will be there for you through your entire pg and labour should you wish!!

    Congratulations!!! Twins are great!!

I had my twins at Frances Perry Hospital with Dr Karen Williamson who was absolutely fantastic. I could not have been happier with her or the hospital.
As Frances Perry is situated within the Royal Women's Hospital you have extra facilities like NICU close by should they be needed.

Thanks! I have been able to get into Euan Wallace. He seems very experienced and friendly. I think we will get along.

It went really well! Although we did have to wait an hour - not ideal with a 19 month old...but that aside, Euan seemed very nice, didn't rush and explained a lot to us. It is still early days for us and I don't have any issues thus far (touch wood), so I think it's just a waiting game now.

Did you have your appointments at Monash or Dixon St? How is the parking at Dixon?
