Happy new year everyone![]()
I thought it would be nice to start a new support thread for those who are trying to put on weight. Somewhere where we can share our goals, tips and tricks, and vent about our weight.
In 2012 I hope to gain 5kg - any more than that is a bonus! My second goal is to stop getting depressed while looking at photos of voluptuous women - I will never have Salma Hayek's curves, it's just not going to ever happen, and I need to accept that!
Last but not least, I'm going to stop getting upset when people tell me that I need to eat a big mac or ask me if I'm eating. Instead, I'm going to reply with something witty - I just need to think of what that witty comment will be![]()

I'm not going to focus on the number side of things, but my goals are to tone up and eat healthier, exercise more (or just generally be more active) I realise that to start off with some weight will drop but once I start building muscle tone I'm sure the scales will increase somewhat.
I think its more way of thinking I need to work on. I just want to be healthy, and not feel like I can't lead a healthy lifestyle without being accused of dieting, like I have to be eating junk because I'm skinny. Junk food makes me feel so sick.
In the past few months I have drastically cut back on chocolate, lollies, and coke.

That's a good point Bell&Bug (re: the number side of things) - I don't even own scales actually, so I don't know when i'll know that i've reached my goal
I can usually tell how much weight i've gained or lost by looking in the mirror at my hips. I suppose my aim is to look in the mirror and not have a bony reflection
Good luck with yout goalsI try to eat a lot of wholesome fatty foods (avocado, olive oil, organic peanut butter, whole dairy etc). A lot of people comment that I should eat more junk, but I think there is a lot of confusion regarding fats. I want to put weight on, not have a heart attack!

I just weighed myself on some scales at Dad's house (I don't have any scales at home), and I weigh 50kg
I was really shocked, it's the least I've weighed since late primary/early high school. I figured I would be around the 53kg mark. It was the end of the day too and I had just eaten a huge lunch. Gosh :-/
Anyway, I'm still on my special weight gain 'diet', so I'll keep at it.
How is everyone else going?
Welcome Mum88! Good luck TTC and gaining weight

Anyway, while I'm in here, I may as well update. I'm not sure where everyone else has disappeared to from this section, but I'm hoping it's because you have all gained weight!
I have had regular consultations with a nutritionist and naturopath in recent times and I'm really benefiting from her adviceI'm on a new drink supplement to have inbetween meals and snacks. The only issue is that I constantly feel like a stuffed pig with all the food I'm consuming
