Default Brisbane hospitals/ER department for burns treatment

Hi to all the Brisbanites out there,

as some of you may have read in my other thread my 13 month old suffered some burns to his leg a few days ago which is going to require some ongoing treatment.

The accident happened in Canberra and we are now in Brisbane and I was hoping that we could get recommendations as to where we should get his dressings changed tomorrow. We have the choice of the Mater or Royal Children's hospital. We have a referral from Canberra Hospital that we need to present to the ER department, so that we can hopefully be fasttracked.

We were hoping not to be sitting in ER waiting for treatment all day, however we obviously want to go whereever DS will have the best treatment.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

RCH looks after all the burns. Generally speaking the earlier in the morning you get there the less busy they should be (hopefully!)

Any ER on New Years Day is going to be really busy I think ...I think I read in the paper this morning it's their busiest day and they are bracing themselves for the usual drunk and disorderly

Is a private clinic perhaps an option?

I think going to the childrens super early however also in saying that, i prefer redcliffe as they are much quicker and take adults and kids but tomorrow i would rather be at the childrens away from the main hospitals with all the drunks etc about
