Default Cheap whole foods/grains in Brisbane?

    ***Posting here for traffic***

So, DH is finally on board with eating better so I want to get some dried pulses and whole grains, burghul etc but I want to know where I can get them fairly cheap. I know middle-eastern grocers have that sort of thing in larger lots, but hoping someone can hook me up with a cheap place so I can stock up.

    Thanks!

I wondered about Mick's, but knowing how in demand they are I wasn't sure how cheap they would be.

I get my larger bulk items from Trumps at the Rocklea Markets..now I'm talking bulk. So 25kg bags (or less) of things like flour, etc.

Works out much cheaper than retail (like Mrs Flanneries or Simply Good Stores) Especially if you organize a co-op to go in.

Anyone can go in and purchase and browse around - they don't have a website but you could ask them to email you a price list..

Wow, I'm not sure I would need, or have room to store such big quantities but that is the sort of place I was thinking of. Do they do smaller lots, like a couple of kgs? . Thanks Babushka

They do smaller lots of lentils and stuff (I don't have my list on me at the moment) but about 5kgs is the minimum you can buy...

I'll have a look and see if I can find it somewhere, but I've seen bags of lentils instore that are reasonably priced and in manageable sizes.

I've bought chickpea flour in there for $21 for 5kg which is sooo much cheaper than retail!!
