I think this site is amazing! Im new to this journey and at times feel very alone as I have moved cities and don't have any girlfriends here.
I have known of my PCOS since I was early 20's. I have always wanted a family but just took me a little while to find the right guy.
So now here I am. I have wonderful man, very supportive.
I didn't wait long before seeking fertility treatment as I always knew I would have trouble, my periods are very irregular. I start my first round of Clomid on 3 Jan. Im excited and nervous all at the same time. After many tests my specialists has put me back on BCP for about 7 weeks now to level out my hormones? Has anyone else had to do this. Of course im a little frustrated as Iv been super keen to get started.
Look forward to hearing from others and sharing thoughts feelings etc..

Hi Simba and welcome. I was also diagnosed with PCOS (cystic) in my early 20s but didn't get the right guy to start trying until my 30s. I was 32 when we started, I had been on Yasmin for about a year and urged DH that we needed to start trying asap as my PCOS would cause big issues. Without OC I would have 3-9 AFs a year, cycles everywhere.
Long story short, I conceieved DD first ovulate after coming off the pill. I would have ovulated about 5 weeks after I stopped taking it and we caught that egg.
The OB explained that the OC makes you very ready to get pregnant. I think in the case of PCOS it meant that my ovaries weren't covered in cystic folicles all fighting with each other about who gets to pop and release the egg. So when the first follicle was ready it just went without any interference.
Pregnancy hormones seemed to sort out my PCOS as I was symptom free after having DD and I conceieved angel bub first try as well. But post MC the symptoms are back and we're on our second month trying, 11dpo and BFN so, especially as I'm a few years older now, I won't be wasting any time getting help if this doesn't happen in a few months.
Don't be discouraged about needing the OC, I honestly believe that is what made it so easy for me to conceieve DD, hopefully you will have great luck too!

Thank you lovely ladies for your replies.
Wow stretched your post was so encouraging. I also only have 3-9 periods a year. I must say my body seems to be some what normal when I first go off the pill at least for a month or two before things get weird again.
Lets hope 2012 is our year!!
