Default grommets, adenoids and tonsils all in one go..

My son (5 in Feb) has to have all 3 (grommets, adenoids and tonsils)done in one go. He is on a 3 month waiting list which takes it up to Feb 2012.

Just wondering if anyone else has any advice on what to do pre and post op? The dr's have said i cannot be more then 30 mins from a hospital in case of bleeding.

Any other hints and tips for sleep apnoea and bad (really horrid) snoring?

Best advice is to keep the pain relief up post op!!! I will ad that sometimes it is not nice to get kids to take meds and aim to give it at least 30mins before meals . It really helps to get them eating and drinking. It is very painful. You can get panadol that goes just into the bottom too.

Your surgeon should give you a handout of what to expect prior to going in for the op.

Post op - keep up fluids & try to get your child to have some ice cream or something cold as it will help reduce the swelling. Keep up the pain relied as was mentioned.
