I had placenta pravia or whatever and they didn't want me to labour and rupture the placenta or something.

It seems late but do they normally do them that late.

39 weeks is the standard time, as far as i know. they seem to want to let bub cook for as long as possible without getting too close to going naturally. It also depends on the reasons for the c/s and they can do earlier based on medical reasons. My two electives were done at 38 weeks.

I'm in NSW and am having mine at 40 weeks . I wanted to wait though because I know as much time in the womb as possible is best for bubs. Reason for c-section is breech baby.

I had DS at 39 weeks by emergency CS after 24hr labour, 9lb 8, Apgar 9 + 10. I had DD at 38w 4d by elective CS, 9lb, Apgar 9 + 10. Am nearly 36 weeks now and OB will do another elective CS at around 38 weeks, due to another big baby. Hoping for 38w 0d!
