    Default Period Pains?

    Hey, i'm 30 weeks!

Anyway, the last couple of days I have had really really mild period like cramps, as in if I was out shopping I probably wouldn't notice them but as i'm lying in bed I can. What does this mean? Is it braxton hicks?

Congratulations, not long to go now! i had the same feeling around 25 weeks and the midwife said that they may have been braxton hicks but didnt really sound like it so i never really got a straight answer lol Goodluck with the rest of your pregnancy!

The easiest way I found to work out if they are Braxton hicks or contractions (short of going to the hospital to be monitored) was get a contraction time (plenty of free apps for android and iPhone, if not then heaps on the net) and time them. If they stay the same and don't increase in intensity and frequency it's a safe bet they are just BH. If they do start changing (getting more intense and/more frequent) then ring the hospital and they will probably get you to go on for monitoring. Another way my midwives suggested is a warm bath/shower or heat pack. If they ease up and/or stop, then it's probably BH, if they don't then again ring the hospital. Same with panadol.

    Hope that helps

Thanks girls! Yes I forgot about the whole timing contractions etc, duh! Well I think it's safe to say they are BH then as they are only maybe twice a day if that.

Could also just be a bit of stretching

I had this just last week, scared me but a warm bath soothed me as did panadol, so must of been BH. Haven't had any for a few days
