... What happened to the girl with the 'helping hand from her gastric band'....
I had a baby girl in January and was going OK then about April, the band started to feel veerrrry tight. I got to the point where I could barely keep any solid food down, and often not even water, even though the band was completely empty. I made the decision to have the band removed in June, and had surgery on the 22nd. I weighed 84kgs on surgery day, giving me an overall loss of 42.6kgs.
6 months later and I have regained half of that despite efforts to eat well. My appetite is, as it always was pre-band, insatiable.
My kids and husband are well and despite my ever-increasing girth I am mostly quite happy.
Anyway. I just wanted to post a little update as I still feel guilty for deleting my journal, especially after receiving such wonderful support.
So there you go

I have a lap band and they are funny things (not necessarily in a ha ha way). I haven't lost a lot of weight but then I have to admit that I went into it thinking that the band would do all of the work.
Have you considered getting it done again?

I am considering the sleeve surgery, but there is no way I would have another band put in.
You definitely have to work WITH it, but by the end I was on a diet that consisted almost exclusively of Up & Go and ice cream, and it just wasn't healthy.

I'm sure many will appreciate knowing what you've been up to. You were the first person I ever contacted about WLS.
You know there'll always be a little group of sleevers ready to embrace you should you decide to take that path... I hope that even though weight has been regained, you at least feel a lot better than you did before you had the band out - I can't imagine not being able to even swallow liquids easily so long after a surgery... that would be horrible.

Mrs Molly, You have been my rock through my wls journey. I could never pay you back the amount of support you gave me during the really hard days. You are always in my thoughts.
Your beauty shines through every post you make.
You are such a special person who I will always look up too.

Good to hear that you are happy! I think sometimes trying to lose weight can become so consuming that we we become really tense and unhappy. I check your blog occasionally to see if you've updated and am really pleased to hear that you and your family are well
The band can be so fickle! Mine is quite loose at the moment and I am plodding along and maintaining, I'm planning on getting some more fill perhaps at the end of January and trying to lose some more weight. For the moment I'm just enjoying eating what 'normal' people eat and eating 'normal' amounts.
Goodluck with your decision in regards to possible future wls and thanks for the update
