    We had to do Christmas last weekend as hubby is away this weekend and I just pre boiled my spuds the day before, chuffed them up in the colander with a few tablespoons of duck fat left them to cool then popped them into the fridge until the next day, got them out about 3pm and popped them on a tray ready for the oven, when the turkey was done at 4:30 I cranked the oven up to 220 and put them in, they were crispy and pipping hot at 5 and my turkey gots its 30 min of resting

    Me too - unfortunately the inlaws are quite specific about roast potatoes on Christmas day. It was the only request they had, so I'm doing it as they wish!

    agree. the only time you keep the skin on potatoes is when having boiled new potatoes or for potato salad (in this case they have to be red skinned!)

    pumpkin on the other hand should be roasted with the skin on. i dont eat the stuff but it makes it much easier to turn and lift out of the pan!

    What about baked potatoes for beef stroganoff? Or homemade wedges?!?!

    Mmmm love roast pumpkin skin but it has to be blackened!

    And the roasted skin of pumpkin tastes awesome
