Default Think/Hope im losing my mucous plug...

Its my 2nd preg, im 38w4d and this morning woke up with heaps of lower back ache as well as thigh / pelvis pain, have been constipated last couple of days so thinking that may be the reason for back pain?? anyway, I found some brown mucous when i went to the toilet earlier, not heaps, just a little bit, could this be my mucous plug starting to come out??

It could be hon. It will generally be a white-ish, clearish glob of stuff with some streaky pink stuff! That was descriptive wasn't it? Even if you do lose the mucous plug your wish may not come true right away. Sometimes you can wait a while for anything else to happen, even weeks. BUT, I'd be keeping an eye on that back pain. Maybe if you've been constipated you could have a little dose of castor oil to relieve you of that and hopefully it will help move things along as an added bonus!

Did you end up in labor soon after? Curious to know if it was your plug or not

I didn't have DS until 8 days after losing my mucus plug.

I just had to add it was one of the most disgusting things I'd ever seen too, so gross! No one had warned me about that prior either so didn't know what it was at first.

Yep, my waters broke at midnight on 21st, and Max was born at 10am 22nd Dec, labour was 1.5 hrs from when regular contractions started, all natural, just a bit of gas to get through the pain, he was 8 days early, and we were out of hospital christmas eve
