Hi SnS ,I used to live down near albany too and now live in CV , I love the area theres loads of families with young kids and occasionally a few BH meetups happen here. There is 2 parts of CV one being in the gosnells shire and the other being the city of canning, to me this makes a big difference as Gosnells shire doesnt have 24hr security patrol so I feel a bit safer on my side of nicholson but otherwise both areas have lovely houses and there is great primary schools in all of the estates altho some are a bit harder to get into for kindy than others. There is also a bit of difference in the rates but the rent is much the same. There is plenty of dental surgerys and doctors , I use the campbell rd dentists but I still prefer an out of area doctors as thats one I have gone to for years who is also my OB. There is a couple of main shopping centres with woolies and coles and a bunnings just opened up in southern river otherwise its not far to major shopping malls like carousel, booragoon etc and the main high school is CV college which is an indipendant school otherwise theres Carey baptist college which is very popular too and located in southern river. I love how its 20 mins to everything like the city (not in peak hrs tho lol) and armadale (great shopping and parks) and freo (beach and markets) and also I work in all 3 of those places so very central for me. There is also gorgeous parks located in the estates and nice bike trails. We have our own mums groups thru school on FB and have monthy dinners for the mums and outings for the kids during the holidays I think this is because there is a high proportion of sahm or mums that work part time. In our estate we have the community centre which has kinder music and a 3yr old kindy plus other programs for little kids run during the week and there is also a monkey bars gym on the other side of canning vale. I think thats about all oh and theres a great bus service with pram ramps which goes to both local train stations. Check out the forums a bit further as I think there is another section for SOR parents with a roll call of mums who live locally

thanks lulu so which estate are you in?
Im excited yet stressed and worried all at once with the move so much to organise.
I wanted to study nursing next year but the tafe campuses and even bently for uni are just too far away. I know 15 - 20 min isnt alot but when you need to drop kids off and pick them up its a huge difference to the 5min down the rd to where i am. I was studying the bridging course into nursing this year. I think i might just put my plans on hold for a yr while we settle into new routines. Thankyou for all the tips.
looks like a good area.
