Default REALLY bad skin while TTC

    Hi Everyone,

Anyone else have REALLY bad skin after going off the pill? I came off in July just before our wedding (thankfully my skin stayed decent the first month), but since then it's just gotten worse and worse.

Anyone got any remedies? I spent so long trying to get decent skin that it's really a downer seeing me all spotty again

    Moonie

My skin was also terrible! I felt like a teenager again and it really upset me. It started about 6 weeks after I came off the pill but only lasted about a month. Just make sure you wash you face regularly... I used a gentle facial scrub every day too... Then only a very small amount of moisturizer. Hope it clears up soon but I totally know how you feel! tis not especially fun

I think it takes about a month for it to clear up... I came off anti depressants and my skin was horrible for weeks... Maybe even up to 6 weeks & I couldn't figure out why... My beauty therapist said it was my body flushing out the last of the meds... All okay now :-) hang in there :-)

I've also found using gentle products helps them not to be so irritated.. Try cedephil from the chemist... Use light moisturizer, not heavy creams!!

It's been bad since late July. I use Sukin Organics face wash, use their scrub a couple of times a week and also their clay mask. My skin is super dry but I can't use much moisturiser or it gets worse. I do use cetaphil lotion, and also Eryacne gel (script only, been using it for a few years). It's not getting any better - in fact it's getting worse!

I can't use sukin products. I love them and they smell amazing but I tried them and my skin got far worse. I used tea tree from the body shop at first from the body shop but it dries out skin, now I the vit e from there and I find it works well. However I do find that every now and again things stop working and I need to change.
It's awful and I hope you find something that helps

Couldn't read without posting. I had horrible skin when younger, and it flared up again after stopping the pill a couple of years ago. I worked out that my skin is super sensitive. I used to use all sorts of lotions and potions to no avail.

I started washing it with baking soda (use water to make a paste) and moisturizing with pure organic coconut oil. Best thing I've ever done! My skin is just baby soft now. Plus it's so cheap!!

I never get breakouts anymore. But if I use a regular face wash even once it just feels horrible on my skin.

I found my skin was at it's best having regular facials before our wedding, I always got compliments about how clear my skin looked. They use Skeyndor products which seem to work for my skin... I stick with gentle products... The strong ones like proactive made my skin so much worse! I never use supermarket brands... Sometimes you really do need to spend good money... I never used the cetaphil lotion just the wash with the darker blue label. My sister likes Elle bache or what ever they are called!!

I do have super sensitive skin, I have for many years. I'm allergic to benzyl peroxide (proactive), titanium dioxide (rules out most moisturisers/foundations/sunscreens) and apricot kernel oil. Bambinos, that's interesting, I might try that! I'm not too sure about putting straight oil on my face though.

My skin looked like it was getting better when I used the clay mask about twice in a row in less than half a week, but then it looked like it was getting worse, so I stopped in case I was reacting to it.

At least I know I'm not the only one. It certainly feels like I am!
