    Default Dairy Free Condensed Milk?

Hi! Does anyone know a recipe for dairy free condensed milk? I want to do some Christmas cooking but one of the guests coming is dairy free.

Thought some of the wonderful creative people here would have an idea!!

    Thanks!

    is it dairy or lactose?

You can buy lactose free cream (long life, its near the cream)

are you making a dessert or something?

depending on what it is could you use a combination of say coconut cream and glucose syrup or something?

there was a thread a while ago about making your own condensed milk. i cant remember exactly what was in in but it had powdered milk. maybe you could substitute cocconut milk powder. it would taste coconutty (obviously!) but depending on what you are making it might be nice.
dont know if there is such thing as soy/almond/rice etc milk powder

    here is the thread http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...570-Yum!/page2
it was down the bottom of page 2

    Oh, you're a good sister.

I went a step further and searched for a vegan alternative (one of my family doesn't do dairy or egg) and found this http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Vegan-Condensed-Milk
